Consistency in layout:
Volkswagon likes to use the style of their logo and keep it consistent with the layout of the site. They use it in the simplicity of the icon and they use it as icons when you search through the main navigation. It is a visual connection that pleases the eye of the consumer. They break it down so that you're eye starts at the central image, or the attention grabber, to tell you about the product or the deal of the month. From there you can go anywhere you would like.

Is this site made for print or web?
I believe the site could be used for print if needed. The design is very clean and readable. It's not overbearing with words, or images. It balances very well and gives the eye a chance to rest and look around. If it were printed I think it would work best as a brochure rather than an actual book made for volkswagons; although there is probably too much information for the small space in a brochure.

Final Thoughts
It is a great site. Once VW went to the newer model of the bug, being sleek and innovative, their image as a company had to change as a whole as well; therefore changing their style, It is easy to navigate through, and very appealing to the eye. |
